EXCURSION ITINERARY
Trip highlights include:
Driving to one of Bulgaria’s smallest towns - Madzharovo to meet our guides. Here we visit the RSPB centre where you will be able to learn in greater detail all about the Wolves, Vultures and other mammals of this area. While you are at the centre you will also be able to witness lunchtime at the Vulture feeding station as the Griffon vultures are regularly fed carcasses. This has become necessary over the last 2 decades because of the decline of stock breeding, which was driving the vultures towards extinction. The experienced staff will then instruct you on all aspects of tracking, studying and locating the grey wolves of this region. You will learn about the wolves and vulture’s status, behavioural patterns, hunting strategies and main prey. Then enjoy the experience of using your new found knowledge to go out on a mission to see the wolves. Nowhere else in Europe does nature still have the natural habitats for these creatures to thrive which can witness on a family holiday.
